Duties of this LEAP Job Posting:
  • Serve as a primary contact for Wauzhushk Onigum Nation (WON) families to assist children with health, social, or educational needs.
  • Act as a “Focal Point” for families by engaging with community members and actively participate in community events to raise awareness of Jordan’s Principle.
  • Provide ongoing services promptly to support children and youth’s health, education, and well-being.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to address gaps in services and meet the needs of children and families.
  • Work with interdepartmental staff to identify service gaps and utilize planning, organization, problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure safe handling of documents and records.
  • Build positive relationships with partners and external resources to improve service coordination for children, families, and caregivers.
  • Provide culturally responsive approaches and interventions to support children’s healing journeys and coordinate community programming.
  • Engage and educate WON families on Jordan’s Principle.
  • Assist families by completing forms, gathering quotes and required documentation.
  • Maintain communications with children, families, and service providers while coordinating approved services.
  • Support community initiatives, such as the Canada Summer Jobs program, and assist in organizing workshops or events.
  • Ensure systems are in place to support children, youth, families, and caregivers collaboratively while promoting personal growth, self-worth, and belonging.
  • Submit ISC-related documentation in collaboration with the Jordan’s Principle Administrator.
  • Attend required training and workshops.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Jordan’s Principal Administrator.
Qualifications for this LEAP Job Posting:
  • Grade 12 or equivalent required.
  • Postsecondary education in health, social sciences, education, administration, or related fields is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as a self-starter while effectively

collaborating with team members and stakeholders.

  • Experience navigating service agencies and coordinating services is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Wauzhushk Onigum Nation community needs is essential.
  • Organization skills and record-keeping are essential.
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Clear CPIC upon request.
