Duties:

The SCFHT is seeking a collaborative, analytical, and forward-thinking Quality Improvement Decision Support Specialist (QIDSS) to support quality improvement initiatives across primary care programs and partner organizations. In this role, you will help advance Quality Improvement and Data Support (QIDS) initiatives by improving data quality, enhancing information flow, supporting performance measurement, and developing meaningful analytical tools and reports that drive informed decision-making.

  • Lead and support quality improvement and decision-support initiatives
  • Develop queries, dashboards, reports, and analytical products
  • Improve data quality, integrity, and standardization across programs
  • Support interdisciplinary teams in using data for performance improvement
  • Assist with ministry and organizational reporting requirements
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams, leadership, and provincial partners
  • Facilitate committees, training, and knowledge-sharing opportunities
  • Support Electronic Medical Records (EMR) optimization and data extraction processes

 

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Health Sciences, Information Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

 

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare data quality and clinical information management
  • Experience with quality improvement and performance measurement in healthcare
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

 

Technical Expertise

  • Experience working with EMR/EHR systems used in Ontario
  • Proficiency in SQL or similar data extraction/programming languages
  • Experience with reporting tools such as SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, or Crystal Reports is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of PHIPA and health information privacy requirements
