Wage: Salary range $65,000- $75,000 depending on education and experience.
Duties:
Migisi Treatment Centre is looking for a dynamic and engaging Treatment and Aftercare Coordinator with experience to be a part of our team. We are seeking a dependable and adaptable individual with strong interpersonal skills. The primary responsibility of the Treatment and Aftercare Coordinator is to design and implement program components for addictions treatment programming. Migisi Alcohol & Drug Treatment is more than a treatment centre, it is an Anishinaabe traditional healing centre. We are seeking a full-time Coordinator for a 13-month contract, with interest and experience in providing addictions services that are rooted in traditional healing and evidence-based interventions and techniques.
- Conduct research and stay updated on best practices in addiction counseling and program development.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of program components, such as coping skills, therapy models and aftercare planning.
- Collaborate with the healing and wellness team to develop in-patient programming.
- Facilitate educational workshops to address addiction-related topics and promote recovery to clientele.
- Work one-one with clients to develop personalized aftercare plans.
- Train employees in programming and facilitation.
- Monitor program outcomes and evaluate the effectiveness of addiction treatment interventions.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and treatment planning sessions to discuss client progress and coordinate care.
- Collect and analyze data to identify areas for program improvement and make recommendations for enhancement.
- Foster effective communication and teamwork to ensure comprehensive and coordinated addiction treatment.
- Conduct oneself in a professional and ethical manner, maintaining appropriate boundaries and professional relationships with clients and colleagues.
Qualifications:
- University Degree or College Diploma in Human Services, Social Work, Mental Health Addictions, Psychology or a related field of study with three to five years’ experience, preferably in a treatment setting. Combinations of work experience and education will be considered.
- Strong program development and planning skills in areas such as trauma informed care, motivational interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and life-skills certification will be considered assets.
- Understanding and knowledge in the historical context of Indigenous issues
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Competency with technology and computer skills and programs such as MS Office.
- Good attendance record and punctuality a must.
- Knowledge of community resources and case management skills.
- Ability to speak and/or understand Ojibway is considered an asset.
- Must have Ontario Class G driver’s license and own transportation.
- Standard First Aid and CPR C required.
- Will be required to submit a satisfactory criminal reference check and driver’s abstract at own expense.
