Wage: $55,000 – $60,000/ year

 

Lake of the Woods Business Incentive Corporation (LOWBIC) is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Community Development & Business Services Intern to support strategic economic development initiatives that strengthen regional business growth, workforce attraction and retention, community engagement, and awareness of services. This position offers hands-on experience in economic development, business outreach, communications, project coordination, and community engagement while working with businesses, stakeholders, and community partners.

 

Duties:

The successful candidate will support projects and initiatives related to:

  • Development and coordination of a Young Professionals Network
  • Local business outreach and promotion for major events including the Royal Winter
  • Fair and Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada Convention
  • Social media, marketing, and communications initiatives
  • Basic Business succession planning outreach and support
  • Research, stakeholder engagement, and general economic development activities
  • Administrative and project coordination support

 

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will demonstrate:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organizational and project coordination abilities
  • Experience or interest in economic development, business, marketing, communications, or community development
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media platforms
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Post-secondary education in a related field is considered an asset
