Wage: Salary is based on a “per trip” basis. Rate of $0.50km travelled and $25/hr (2 hours per trip/day approx. Mon-Fri)
Duties:
The Discharge Driver will transport clients released from custody to their destinations in a timely and safe manner. You need strong driving skills, a clean driving record, and a valid driver’s license. In addition to driving skills and experience, you also need strong communication and customer service skills. Interacting with passengers is a major part of our service, and you must work with our clients in a friendly and helpful manner.
Qualifications:
- Proven ability to work with individuals from NAN communities;
- Strong computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint required.
- Experience in counselling, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care is an asset;
- Ability to handle sensitive or complex situations and resolve conflict;
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Professional, responsive, and positive work attitude is essential;
- High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability;
- Previous experience in handling confidential or sensitive information;
- Flexibility to work evenings as required
- Fluency in an Indigenous language is an asset.
- Criminal record check is required.
