Duties:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic student to join our team for the summer. This role is ideal for high school students with an interest in environmental science, public health, and community safety. The successful candidate will gain hands‑on experience supporting public health inspection activities and promoting safe, healthy environments within our community.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in high school, with an interest in environmental science, public health, or related fields
- Strong interest in learning about public health inspection and environmental health practices
- Valid driver’s license and reliable access to transportation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Strong communication, organization, and time‑management skills
- Willingness to work both in office and outdoor field settings
Other:
- All new Northwestern Health Unit employees are required to be fully vaccinated with a Health Canada approved COVID-19 vaccine as a condition of hire, unless medically exempt or otherwise exempt under the Ontario Human Rights Code
- Access to transportation. Mileage allowance provided.
- Successful candidate requires a clear Criminal Reference Check prior to start of work
