Duties:
We are seeking two youth worker(s) to fill two floater positions in a 6 month contract. This will not be a full time position but rather .85 FTE = 85% FT. The defined hours of work will be based on a four on / four off rotation from Monday to Thursday 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Friday to Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. for an average of 68 hours bi-weekly.
Qualifications:
- PREFERRED: Child and Youth Worker Diploma from an accredited College or University Candidates with the following qualifications may also be considered where the person has significant related experience
- B.S.W., B.S.W., B.A. Sociology or Psychology, Onajigawin Indigenous Services Diploma, Social Services Worker Diploma, Developmental Service Worker Diploma.
SKILLS:
- Applicants must have an awareness of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
- Applicants must have a demonstrated ability in the following:
- Above average verbal skills; 2
- Ability to confront youth in a consistent and constructive manner;
- Above average interpersonal skills;
- Ability to control and stimulate groups of adolescents
- Possession of a valid Ontario Drivers License and current First Aid Certificate;
- Applicants must be able to work shift work.
