Duties:
TutorBright is hiring a part-time in-home Tutor-Mentor in Kenora to support local high school students with English, academic skills, organization, study habits, and confidence.
The Tutor-Mentor will provide one-on-one support in the student’s home. Sessions are typically 1 hour and take place after school, in the evenings, or on weekends.
Responsibilities may include:
- Supporting Grade 11-12 English
- Helping with essay and paragraph writing
- Supporting reading comprehension and written responses
- Assisting with homework and assignments
- Helping students with organization, time management, and study skills
- Encouraging stronger academic routines, motivation, and confidence
- Building a positive and supportive relationship with the student
Qualifications:
- Strong English and writing skills
- Comfortable supporting high school students
- Warm, patient, encouraging, and relationship-focused
- Reliable and organized
- Able to commit to a consistent tutoring schedule
- Able to travel independently to students’ homes in Kenora
- Currently enrolled in or graduated from college or university preferred
- Previous tutoring, teaching, mentoring, coaching, or youth-focused experience is an asset
- Experience working with teenagers is an asset
- Access to a reliable vehicle is an asset
- You do not need to be a certified teacher to apply.
