Hours of Work: Part-Time, Permanent, year-round student position. Weekends, evenings, and early morning shifts on weekends. Maximum of 20 hours per week. Flexible scheduling for students.

Duties:

The employees of the City of Kenora deliver quality, cost-effective Municipal services. As a team of valued employees, taking pride and ownership in all that we do, we will exceed expectations.

The Student Pool Attendant will be responsible for the cleanliness of the pool deck area and for ensuring the safety of patrons utilizing the pool. Duties also include checking and cleaning change rooms, administering first aid, assisting with emergencies, and responding to customer inquiries. You must be able to deal courteously with the public, communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and work both independently and as part of a team.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must be attending high school full time
  • Must be at least 14/15 years of age
  • Must possess current LSS Bronze Medallion Award
  • Current Emergency First Aid Certificate (Red Cross, LSS, or St. John Ambulance) or willing to obtain
  • Must be willing to obtain the following certifications and maintain in good standing:
    • Bronze Cross/Standard First Aid
    • NL Certification
    • LSS Swim for Life Instructor Certificate
  • Control water slide activity
  • Assist with LSS Swim for Life swimming lessons
  • Other duties as assigned
