The Healing and Wellness Supervisor is responsible for the organization’s overall staffing and programming, including scheduling, coordinating the treatment program, monitoring program quality control, and supervising staff. Wages: $65,000-$70,900 annual salary (possibility for future salary increases)

Duties of this LEAP Job Posting:
  • Overall coordination of the Migisi Alcohol and Drug Treatment Centre services including staffing, community collaboration, and program delivery.
  • Leading, collaborating, and functioning as a part of a team to provide quality care.
  • Use a strength based and trauma informed approach to work collaboratively with clients and treatment members to help support clients in their treatment and recovery.
  • Offering information and education regarding harm reduction strategies, motivation to change behaviors associated with their addiction, and relapse prevention.
  • Providing supervision, coaching, consultation, and support to staff. Meeting with staff regularly to provide coaching for quality and performance improvement.
  • Establishes a close working relationship with addictions and mental health service providers and First Nations communities.
  • Undertakes any other work that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications for this LEAP Job Posting:
  • A degree /diploma or certification from a recognized university or college in addictions, social work, or related field or equivalent training
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding of mental health, addictions and trauma
  • Ability to interact with others in a positive manner and possess strong emotional intelligence.
  • Experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Anishinaabe People; communities and their culture, traditions and values.
  • Punctuality is a must.
  • Strong organization, planning and ability to carry through.
  • Participate in living the good life (Mino Bimaadiziwin).
  • Fluency in Ojibway or Oji-Cree is considered an asset.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR required (Willing to train)
  • Valid Class “G” license is required. Will be required to obtain a Valid Class “F” license at Migisi’s expense.
  • Must provide a satisfactory criminal reference check with vulnerable sector screen

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This position may require working occasional evenings, weekends and statutory holidays to accommodate 41-day residential treatment cycles.
  • Works primarily in a residential treatment facility setting and occasionally outdoors for land-based activities.
  • Hours of work – 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours a day) generally Monday to Friday (8:30am-4:30pm) with a ½ hour paid lunch
  • On-call as scheduled on the on-call roster
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling
  • Lifting to 30 lbs
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
  • Cleaning duties
  • Transporting clients to activities
  • In person work required (remote work not available)
