The Family Violence Prevention Worker (FVPW) will be responsible for delivering and reporting on the implementation and progress of the initiative in the target communities funded under the project.
- Post-secondary diploma in law, advocacy, paralegal, social work, mental health, or related area of study.
- Experience and knowledge in dealing with victims and offenders of Sexual Abuse and Domestic Violence, Family Violence, Indigenous issues, and the current legal system.
- Experience working with NAN and in First Nation Communities
- Excellent case and file management skills, administrative and coordination skills, stress management, time management skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
- Adaptability and Self-motivation
- Proficient working knowledge of MS Office Software, internet, program database and general office equipment
- Some travel may be required
- Ability to speak Cree, Oji-Cree, or Ojibway an asset.
