Duties of this LEAP Job Posting:

The One-to-One Worker is a casual/relief program position. The One-to-One Worker is responsible for the direct supervision of high risk and special needs children. The One-to-One Worker ensures the needs of the child are met according to Kitapinoonjiiminaanik Family Services philosophy, First Nation standards, and Provincial regulations and standards.

Responsibilities:  

The One-to-One Worker reports primarily to the Alternative Care Resource Manager on all aspects of job functions and will exercise the following duties under the supervision of the Alternative Care Resource Manager:

  • Kitapinoonjiiminaanik Family Services employs One- to- One workers to work with children in our Staffed Modeled Homes and to provide relief to caregivers.
  • Workers are required to work; day/night shifts for the Staff Modeled Homes.
  • Responsible for direct supervision, safety and wellbeing of high risk and special needs children.
  • Responsible for light housekeeping, menu planning, meal preparation as required.
  • Responsible for observing and report findings to be detailed in a logbook.
  • Able to work with children and youth between the ages of 0-17.
  • Ensure the needs of children and youth are met.
Qualifications for this LEAP Job Posting:
  • High School Diploma with one year direct related experience. However, a combination of skills, education and experience may be considered.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy working with children.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work shift work and report to work on short notice in relation to service requirements.
  • Current First Aid and C.P.R. certificates, and crisis intervention, will train.
  • Must possess a valid Ontario G Driver’s License and be willing to travel.
  • Must provide a clear Criminal Records Check and Driver’s Abstract; and
  • Ability to speak Ojibway is preferred and a definite asset.
