Duties of this LEAP Job Posting:
  • Operating machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Ensuring projects are completed on time and meet quality standards
  • Assisting in the finishing process (cutting, sanding, applying vinyl, assembly, etc.)
  • Keeping the shop tidy, clean, and organized
  • Safely delivering finished products to customers as required
  • Communicating effectively with the team and management
Qualifications for this LEAP Job Posting:
  • Hardworking with a strong work ethic
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Punctual and dependable
  • Physically capable of lifting 100+ lbs
  • Artistic eye and attention to detail
  • Candidate for this position must identify as an indigenous person, including First Nation, Metis or Inuit
  • Candidate must be a new entrant into the workforce, are transitioning to a new career, or the unemployed or underemployed who are entering a new field
  • Candidate must have not previously participated in an NOHFC funded internship in the 2020 Mandate
  • Candidate must be 18 years of age or older
  • Candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Once hired, the candidate must reside in the Northern Ontario community in which they are employed

Additional assets (not required, but an advantage):

  • Experience with woodworking, vinyl application, or sign making
  • Knowledge of power tools, CNC machines, or large format printers
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Team player with strong problem-solving skills
