- Operating machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
- Ensuring projects are completed on time and meet quality standards
- Assisting in the finishing process (cutting, sanding, applying vinyl, assembly, etc.)
- Keeping the shop tidy, clean, and organized
- Safely delivering finished products to customers as required
- Communicating effectively with the team and management
- Hardworking with a strong work ethic
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Punctual and dependable
- Physically capable of lifting 100+ lbs
- Artistic eye and attention to detail
- Candidate for this position must identify as an indigenous person, including First Nation, Metis or Inuit
- Candidate must be a new entrant into the workforce, are transitioning to a new career, or the unemployed or underemployed who are entering a new field
- Candidate must have not previously participated in an NOHFC funded internship in the 2020 Mandate
- Candidate must be 18 years of age or older
- Candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Once hired, the candidate must reside in the Northern Ontario community in which they are employed
Additional assets (not required, but an advantage):
- Experience with woodworking, vinyl application, or sign making
- Knowledge of power tools, CNC machines, or large format printers
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Team player with strong problem-solving skills
