Maple Leaf Drilling is looking for a Drillers Helper for immediate hire, with relative experience required. Class G (full) license is mandatory, but having a license to drive the larger trucks is definitely an asset which should be mentioned upon applying.
A Drillers Helper is responsible for loading, unloading tooling and supplies, lifting heavy weight materials, and assisting the driller at job sites. Shop time includes preventive maintenance, organizing and inventorying tooling and consumables among other duties given by the Shop Manager. You will be driving long distances, sometimes hauling a trailer and will have to preform inspections on all equipment you operate.
All applicants must pass Drug Testing pre access and post incident, Driver’s Abstract and Criminal check.
- Assisting Driller at Job Site
- Loading, unloading, lifting heavy materials
- Working outdoors in all conditions
- Overnight travel will be required for extended of time with some weekend work
- Vehicle Maintenance
- Candidate must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions, there will be long days, and some weekends.
- Work mostly out of town for extended periods of time
- Drilling Experience would be an asset
- Must have own vehicle to get to work, no public transportation available.
- First Aid Certificate, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), other Safety Courses would be an asset.
- Would also do shop work and Yard maintenance
- Equipment Operation
- Mechanical skills an asset.
