Hours of Work: 1-year Contract full-time position 40hrs per week (The work schedule shall be 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week with ½ paid lunch break.)
Job Type: Full-Time
Wages: $48,000-$51,900 annual salary (possibility for future salary increases)

Duties of this LEAP Job Posting:
  • The Healing and Wellness Intake Support Worker is responsible for the general referral
  • and intake process and administrative duties for the treatment centre. The role provides
  • administrative support and helps to ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the centre.
  • Develop and maintain an inventory of submitted intake applications, ensuring that all forms necessary for treatment are prepared for the intake review process.
  • Greet the public arriving at the Centre, direct visitors and clients to the proper Treatment Centre contacts.
  • Receive and direct all incoming telephone calls in a courteous manner.
  • Maintain client records and information.
  • Provide general office services to staff members such as typing, file preparation, photocopying and faxing.
  • Provide and distribute information regarding Migisi Alcohol and Drug Treatment Centre’s program and intake process when requested.
  • Function constructively and positively as a team member.
  • Ensure the front desk and primary office area is orderly and clean.
  • Dispense client medications.
  • Undertakes any other duties from time to time.
Qualifications for this LEAP Job Posting:
  • Practical office administration experience is desired.
  • A strong knowledge of technology is essential for this role. The successful candidate must be proficient in operating office equipment, including photocopiers and telephones, as well as utilizing computer programs such as Microsoft Office and the Addictions Management Information System.
  • Punctuality is necessary.
  • Ability to interact with staff, clients, and referral agencies in a positive manner.
  • Strong organization, planning, and ability to follow through with tasks.
  • Must demonstrate fluency in both spoken and written English. Proficiency in Ojibway and/or Oji-Cree is an asset for this role.
  • Valid Class “G” Ontario license.
  • Must provide a satisfactory criminal reference check.

Working Conditions

  • This position requires on-call duties occasionally.
  • Lifting to 30lbs
  • Cleaning duties
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, and kneeling
  • Must have own transportation to and from work.
  • Works primarily in a residential treatment facility setting (remote work not available)
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer.
  • Will be necessary to obtain valid first aid and CPR training.
