Community Living Fort Frances & District (CLFFD) is a not-for-profit developmental services agency committed to supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live self-directed, meaningful lives in their communities. We deliver individualized supports in residential services, employment, community participation and independent living. The CLFFD Board of Directors is seeking a compassionate, visionary, and strategic Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead a respected, community-driven organization in Northwestern Ontario. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will guide a dedicated team committed to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living independent, inclusive, and fulfilling lives.
This is a pivotal moment for CLFFD as the organization works to bring its mission and vision more fully to life, with a focus on continued growth, service excellence, and meaningful inclusion. Duties of this LEAP Job Posting: Leadership
- Provide overall leadership in alignment with CLFFD’s mission, vision, values, and strategic direction.
- Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure the delivery of high-quality, person directed services that meet all legislative, regulatory, and contractual obligations.
- Cultivate a healthy organizational culture that supports collaboration, innovation, and accountability across all levels of the agency.
Governance
- Serve as a key advisor to the Board of Directors by delivering timely, strategic insight and policy recommendations.
- Interpret and implement Board policy decisions while ensuring the Board has the tools and information to govern effectively.
- Ensure the organization operates with integrity, transparency, and strong alignment to risk management best practices.
Strategy & Innovation
- Lead the implementation of strategic plans, capital initiatives, and service redevelopment projects that reflect the evolving needs of individuals supported.
- Foster innovation and service transformation by integrating sector trends, community input, and continuous quality improvement.
- Oversee organizational readiness through strategic forecasting, planning, and execution of major initiatives.
People & Culture
- Inspire and lead a diverse, skilled, and compassionate team while fostering a supportive and respectful work environment.
- Champion workforce development through leadership succession planning, performance management, and mentorship.
- Promote equity, diversity, and inclusion both within the organization and in its community-facing work.
Partnerships
- Strengthen existing and build new partnerships with MCCSS, Indigenous communities, health and social service organizations, municipal leaders, and local service partners.
- Represent CLFFD at the regional, sector, and provincial levels to influence system-wide improvements and advocate for person-centered policy.
Financial Stewardship
- Ensure responsible use of all human, physical, and financial resources through rigorous budgeting, forecasting, and operational oversight.
- Monitor capital and infrastructure investments to support organizational growth and long-term sustainability.
- Uphold fiscal accountability, identifying opportunities
Qualifications for this LEAP Job Posting:
- Executive or senior leadership experience in the public or non-profit sector, ideally in developmental services, healthcare, or social services.
- University degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field (e.g., social services, public administration, health leadership, developmental services or business).
- In-depth knowledge of ministry-funded service delivery, regulatory frameworks, and funding agreements; familiarity with MCCSS is considered a strong asset.
- Proven experience with board governance, strategic operations, financial oversight and human resources leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to lead inclusive, people-centered organizations.
- Experience leading in a rural or northern context and/or working with Indigenous communities is considered a strong asset.
