Duties of this LEAP Job Posting: Reporting to the Director of Child and Family Advocacy, the First Nations Representative Advocacy Program Supervisor ensures that Indigenous children, youth, and families receive fair treatment, equitable services, and culturally appropriate support. This role focuses on policy implementation, rights protection, and systemic change within child and family services. The First Nations Representative Advocacy Program Supervisor has deep knowledge of legislation and provides supervision to these positions; the FNR, Cultural Support Worker and Post Majority Support Worker.
Must have the ability to implement the following roles:
- Community Engagement & Cultural Leadership
- Creating Advocacy & Family Support Programs
- Policy, Legal Standards & Systemic Change
- Financial Management
- Team Leadership & Working Together
Qualifications for this LEAP Job Posting:
- Education: Post-secondary degree/diploma in Management, Indigenous Studies, Social Work, Child & Family Services, or a related field is required. Applicant with no formal education with demonstrated experience will be considered
- Experience: At least 3 years supporting Indigenous families or working in community advocacy.
- Knowledge: requires good working knowledge of Bill-C92 and Child & Family, Youth Services Act of Ontario, and ability to understand other provincial legislation as necessary
