Wages: $63,000 - $65,000 annually to start

Duties of this LEAP Job Posting:
  • Develop a monthly program calendar for residents outlining program and workshop opportunities
  • Facilitate recreational activities in group settings and individually based on resident needs and interests
  • Work closely with the BVSP Team and Bail Residency Support Workers to be informed of the individualized Service Plans for each resident
  • Coordinate and liaise with other service providers and agencies to provide recreational programming or life skills workshop opportunities for residents
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and statistics regarding all aspects of service delivery when requested
  • Assess resident programs for effectiveness and appropriateness
  • Complete programming reports for residents that participate in life skills, recreation programming, and other therapeutic programming
Qualifications for this LEAP Job Posting:
  • Post-secondary education in Recreational Therapy, Social Services and/or a combination of relevant training, education and job experience
  • Practical knowledge of Indigenous values, traditions, culture, and practices
  • Work related experience in corrections, residential housing programs, homelessness, mental health, poverty, community development or corrections
  • Driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle
  • Proven time management skills, and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Able to speak Ojibway or Oji-Cree is an asset
  • Computer literacy is essential
  • First Aid/CPR training a definite asset
  • Positive attitude & capacity to act as a healthy lifestyle role model
  • Vulnerable Persons Check (upon offer of employment)
