Duties of this LEAP Job Posting:
- Oversee daily shop operations, including scheduling, inventory control, work order processes, etc.
- Assist in the optimization of services to improve customer experience and operational efficiency
- Supervise and schedule marine technicians and service jobs
- Ensure timely and high-quality repair and maintenance services
- Monitor and uphold quality control standards
- Support marketing initiatives for boat services, equipment sales, etc.
- Help manage and improve sales processes and work with administration to meet sales goals
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to foster loyalty and retention
- Participate in budgeting and financial planning
- Monitor expenses, support pricing strategies, and help maintain profitability
- Assist with hiring, training and supervision of all seasonal and permanent shop staff
- Foster a positive, productive and safety-conscious workplace culture
- Provide exceptional service to all boat owners and marina guests
- Serve as a liaison between customers, the marina, and the technical team to ensure customer satisfaction
- Ensure all operations meet safety standards and environmental regulations
- Promote best practices in marine stewardship, especially in ecologically sensitive areas like Lake of the Woods.
Qualifications for this LEAP Job Posting:
- Background or education in marine mechanics, marina services, tourism and business (preferred, but not required)
- Experience in sales, marketing, and customer service (preferred, but not required)
- Knowledge of or interest in marine mechanics, boat systems and diagnostics
- Strong leadership, teamwork and communication skills
- Basic understanding of budgeting and financial management
- Ability to work hands-on and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for boating, the lake (Lake of the Woods and surrounding area), customer service, and contributing to a growing regional economy.
